Privacy & Policy

1. Information Collection (VRC.Privacy.2)

We respect your privacy and are committed to minimizing data collection within our metaverse. Depending on how you interact with the Application, data processing falls into the following categories:

• Metaverse Communication Data (Voice & Chat): SEGi Universe allows students to interact via real-time voice chat and text chat while roaming the campus. This communication data is transmitted dynamically to enable live interaction between students and faculty. We do not permanently log, record, or store the content of your private chats or voice conversations on our servers.
• Live Classes & Attendance: When you attend a live virtual class inside the metaverse, your presence (username/student profile and session duration) may be processed strictly to verify class attendance and academic participation.
• Guest Mode: For users accessing the application via Guest Mode, the core environment can be explored without requiring, collecting, or logging any personally identifiable information.
• Oculus/Meta Horizon Data: The Application uses standard Meta Horizon SDK features solely to verify app ownership (Entitlement Check). We do not collect, view, or store your Meta account credentials.
• XR Tracking Sensors: SEGi Universe uses native device tracking (headset tracking, controller tracking, and/or hand tracking) strictly to render your movements and expressions inside the local virtual space. This spatial data is processed dynamically in real-time on your device and is never recorded, collected, or uploaded to external servers.

2. Use and Sharing of Information (VRC.Privacy.3)

Any processing of technical or communication data is strictly utilized to maintain, optimize, and secure the core operations of the virtual reality experience.

• Third-Party Sharing: We do not sell, rent, trade, or share any user data, chat logs, or attendance records with third-party advertising networks, analytics partners, or commercial entities.
• Academic/Internal Boundaries: Attendance and performance data related to live classes are handled strictly inside authorized SEGi University learning management systems.

3. Data Storage and Security

We maintain appropriate administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect against loss, misuse, or unauthorized access, disclosure, or alteration of data. Your local app state is securely isolated inside your Meta device environment.

4. Data Deletion and User Rights (VRC.Privacy.4)

Under data protection standards (including the Malaysian Personal Data Protection Act 2010), you have explicit rights regarding data control:

• Data Deletion Requests: Students may request the removal of any persistent session logs or attendance history associated with their application profile.
• Inquiries: If you wish to exercise your data rights, request data deletion, or have questions about this policy, please contact our development and support team directly at gtdd.dev@segi.edu.my.

5. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We advise you to periodically review the policy URL provided via the Meta Store for any updates. Changes are effective immediately once posted on this page.
